Avalanche Open Challenge was first held in 1998 at the Shimla Ice Skating Club. It was a great event for the local riders and we witnessed a great audience. It was one of those events where you see people sitting on the trees to get a better view of the action.

Of all the participants, Raakesh Blokhra won 1st Overall and 1st in Category C followed by Amrit Pal Singh who ranked 2nd Overall and 1st in Category D.

Attached is the picture of Raakesh on the finish line of the event.

Feel free to post pictures / thoughts / memories of the event.

@parminder... were you there at the Avalanche Open Challenge '98. WOW.

or was it at the Avalanche Open Challenge '2004 ??

Both times the event was held at the ice-skating rink ground and had that JUMP which was very unnerving to the first timers!

The crowds really loved those events.

Anyways, I have some fond memories of this event... Will share them with all of you in the days to come... "AOC 1998 from the eyes of one of the Chief Marshals"... He he he....  Grin
